What happens to your marketplace's data — including if we stop
This page is for operators who pay us to host their marketplace. It sets out what happens to your marketplace's data while we host it, and after your service ends, whatever the reason. Here "we" means Connector and "you" means the operator.
1. What your marketplace's data is
Your marketplace's data is its database and the files uploaded to it.
It never includes our source code (the Engine your marketplace runs on), our infrastructure configuration, or any other operator's data.
2. A copy of your data, at any time, free
You can ask for a full copy of your marketplace's data at any time, including in the middle of a subscription.
- When: we deliver it within 14 days of your request.
- Cost: none.
- What you get: a standard PostgreSQL dump of your marketplace's database, and an archive of the files uploaded to it.
- How: through a secure download link that works for a limited time.
The request must come from your account holder, meaning the person who holds your operator account with us. Before we send anything, we check that the request really comes from them.
3. If we stop: at least 90 days' notice
If we decide to discontinue your service, or to shut down our hosting business, we will tell you in writing at least 90 days before your service ends.
This notice does not apply if your service ends because you stopped paying or because you breached the terms of your service. Our ordinary billing suspension applies instead.
Whatever the reason your service ends, section 4 applies.
4. When your service ends, for any reason
- We stop running your marketplace on our servers.
- We keep a final archive of its data (a database dump plus the uploaded files) in storage for 90 days after your service ends.
- During those 90 days you can ask us for a copy of it, which we deliver within 14 days of your request at no charge, as in section 2. Or you can ask us to delete the archive straight away.
- After those 90 days, we delete it.
These requests, too, must come from your account holder.
5. Backups
Our routine backups may still contain your marketplace's data for a while after the final archive is deleted. They expire on our normal backup rotation.
6. Your domain
While we host your marketplace, your domain points at our servers. When your service ends, we stop using it.
7. Your users' personal data
For the personal data of your marketplace's users, you are the controller and we act on your behalf as your processor, which is why the final archive has an end date.
